In the 90s early on, she appeared regularly in Carol & Company as a co-star alongside Carol Burnett. Barone performed the role of Carol Willick Ross Geller's ex-wife in the initial Friends appearance. Jane Sibbett took over her part after Barone quit the show in order to concentrate on working full-time.
